Organizing Meetings

Organizing meetings in Türkiye and partner countries to see the installation examples of PATs on site.

Determining Suitable Pilot Points

Determining suitable points in pilot irrigation systems by working with partners as collaboratively to implement PAT systems in least two countries for energy recovery. Also, the type and size must be determined. We hope to get benefits from manufacturers and partner’s experiences on these stages.

Procurement and Control

Some tests will be set to see actions of PAT while working under back pressure by the manufacturer. Because the response from the changing pressure and flow demand must be seen before the implementation of PAT to the PRV, which requires backpressure.

Installation

With these achievements gained after a series of tests, the implementation of suitable PATs adjacent to the PRV will be realized in cooperation with partners.

Monitoring

These pilot implementations in different countries will be monitored in the long-term to investigate impacts of regional precipitation, climate and local irrigation habits. Also, the profitability of the irrigation unions and factors that affect the generable energy amount will be monitored. Lastly, we will deliberate how we can increase generable energy by designing the crop pattern. Thus, in addition to the evaluation of renewable energy resources, which is an important step in improving the sustainability of the irrigation systems, prerequisite data will be collected to discuss the direction in which irrigation habits should be developed.

Publising

In line with all the knowledge gained from these studies and the experience of our research partners, case study articles will be published in international journals.
